It was what I read under my covers, sticky with summer sweat and up way too late, wanting to finish so I could gab with my older sisters. They were always faster readers than me, at least back then. So, I was third in line to read whatever my mom had gotten us at Indigo or Costco. It was always a book for us even if it was gifted to only one of the sisters. My mom’s philosophy has always been “Books are for sharing!”, which I always benefitted from.
